North Coast Dogs puppy and dog training sessions offer the very best in behavior modification for your beloved canine companion. Many of Cleveland’s best veterinarians recommend us to their clients.

Each program is uniquely designed and presented for your dog’s individual level of development, skill, and learning potential. We have many different options, to fit most any need.

Individual programs

Programs vary in length and focus. These are best for dogs and families looking for specialized training in specific locations and for specific goals (home, parks, veterinarian, therapy work, aggression reduction, etc.). These programs are also perfect for those dogs or families not yet ready to work in a group setting. The sky is the limit!

Group Sessions

Seminars and group training sessions are offered. Seminars present focused information for humans, without the distraction of pups. Group classes are intimate in size, and range from performing basic behaviors in a group setting to more complex goals. Each class is tailored to specific attendees, with a basic curriculum outline.

Chill Out: Information to help the Reactive Dogaggressive dog

Looking for ways to work with your reactive dog? Look no further. In this seminar we will discuss the in's and out's of dog behavior, agression, and force-free techniques to work with your fiesty fido. Doggy Drop-inpuppy

Ready to start working with your pup in a group setting? Want to see what we are all about before committing to multiple sessions? Come join us for a single session with your dog, and learn some new behaviors and training techniques for both you and your pup.

Foundation: group classlabradors

This is an excellent beginner group clicker class for dogs and their human companions. Certainly, it's always the right time to learn! The focus is on building a strong human-canine bond, socialization, solving common challenges, and preventing basic problem behaviors. Humans learn solid training theory while pups learn "sit," "down," "come," walking on leash, "stay", and more! You'll also learn how to prepare your pup for basic grooming and vet visits. While this is a well rounded class, be ready for lots of fun and games too! Overall, we'll help you learn how to shape your pup into a happy, confident, mature dog utilizing force-free techniques.

Sessions last 1 hr a week for six weeks. Humans only for the first class.

Canine Good Citizen: group classamerican kennel club canine good citizen akc cgc

Prerequisite: Foundation Group Class or equivalent.

In these group sessions you'll develop and sharpen the skills your dog needs to earn an AKC Canine Good Citizen Certificate. You'll learn how to teach your dog the skills needed to accept distracting situations with grace and confidence. You will also work on utilizing praise and encouragement as rewards, fading the use of treats and toys. One hour a week for six weeks. Location may vary, depending on the skill set of each group of attendees.

Sessions last 1 hr a week for six weeks. Humans only for the first class.

Private Sessionsst bernard dog

Not yet ready to start working with your pup in a group setting, or having challenges best suited for 1-2-1 sessions? We offer private sessions in the comfort of your home virtually, at our facility, in-person at your home, or other locales. Sessions are tailored to your family's needs and goals, cover basic to advanced manners, can address severe behavior issues or just get you started on fulfilling your training goals! Private sessions can be perfect to get your new puppy or rescue dog started on the right paw prior to joining group classes, or get intensive 1-2-1 instruction for Canine Good Citizen and beyond!

Sessions last 1 hr. Two sessions at a minimum are required to cover basic manners and address select behavior issues. Six sessions are typically required to cover basic and intermediate manners and address severe behavior issues. More sessions can be reserved as your family progresses or to cover advanced manners and resolve severe behavior issues.

Policies and Discounts

Aggression Policy

No dogs showing true or ritualized aggression toward another dog or human being will be allowed to remain in group sessions. Clients asked to leave sessions due to an aggression issue will be given the prorated balance of their session fee in the form of a credit for in-home behavior counseling.

Human clients are also asked to refrain from aggressive behavior.

Dropped Session Policy

No refunds are given after the session begins. There are no refunds for missed sessions.

Vaccination Policy

North Coast Dogs requires all dogs be current on vaccinations according to age for DHLPP, Rabies and Bordatella. Vet records must be presented prior to bringing your dog to class. Failure to provide vaccination information will result in termination from class without a refund. We encourage you to ask your vet to email us vaccination records.

North Coast Dogs is aware of varying and developing opinions regarding canine vaccination. Certain exceptions will be made with written documentation from your veterinarian.

Discounts

North Coast Dogs offers a $10 discount to any dog adopted from a shelter or recognized rescue organization within 6 months prior to class start date or in-home consultation. Ask on sign-up!

North Coast Dogs will give current clients a $5 discount on future classes or in-home training services for every new client they refer. The new client must pay for a class or in-home service for the discount to be credited. Current clients can accumulate a discount up to $15 per class or in-home training session. There is no limit to the total amount of $5 credits that can be accumulated. The referral award will be issued in the form of a $5 referral coupon emailed to the prior client. Referral coupons are nontransferrable and expire one year after issuance.

New clients must give the referring client's complete name when we ask "How did you hear about North Coast Dogs" for the referral discount to be credited.
