Family Puppy
This clicker class is specially designed for the learning needs of puppies 8 - 18 weeks of age. Our fun and dynamic puppy class focuses exclusively on puppy issues and your puppy's individual success in this critical stage of development. You'll learn how to solve puppy behavior problems and how to teach your dog "sit," "down," "come," walking on leash, and "stay." Overall, we'll help you learn how to shape your puppy into a happy, confident, mature adult dog.

Family Dog
This is an excellent beginner clicker class for dogs four months and older and their human companions. Certainly, it's never too late to learn. The focus is on building a strong human-canine bond and solving basic problem behaviors. Humans learn solid training theory while dogs learn beginning "sit," "down," "come," walking on leash, and "stay." You'll also learn how to prepare your dog for basic grooming and vet visits. While this is a well rounded class, be ready for lots of fun and games too.

Family Puppy Extra
Prerequisites: Family Puppy or equivalent. This is a wonderful way to brush up on your skills and reinforce your dog?s training. Extra is definitely a hands-on class with an emphasis on applying theory to the real world. Big fun and very upbeat! For dogs 18 months and under.

Family Dog Two
Prerequisite of Family Dog or equivalent. This class is a great next step for dogs 1 year and older. The focus is on developing and strengthening behavior that has been learned previously. You'll build on your dog's "sit," "down," "come," leash work and "stay" with new challenges and distractions. In Family Dog Two you'll also learn "stand," "heel,"and "wait".

Kids and Dogs
Prerequisite: Family Puppy, Family Dog or trainer approval. Everyone has a vision of kids and dogs living together as best friends, but this happy scenario doesn't happen without some work. This 4 week clicker class is designed to help parents create a bond between their children and their dogs by learning how to involve the kids in the training process. The whole family attends each classwhere the focuswill be on the children learning how to teach basic behaviors to the dog as well as how to interact appropriately with dogs through fun games and exercises.
The class is geared towards children between the ages of 5 and 10. Dogs attend all sessions with the family. The class is 4 weeks in length.

Chill Out Class
PreRequisite of Private Screening with Trainer. Do you have a dog that needs to chill out around other dogs? Chill Out classes are geared toward modifying dog to dog aggressive behavior. The class is for dogs who are undersocialized and have either poor social skills or have developed sensitivities towards the proximity of other dogs and therfore lunge out to keep them away. Through a combination of mangement and behavior modification techniques, the class aims to safely progress to a point where the dogs in class can greet each other without aggressive displays.
Class is Twelve weeks long and size is limited to a small group.You will meet once a week for one hour at the same time. First class session is humans only.

Foundations for Agility (And More!)
Foundations for Agility (And More!) is geared toward the person and dog that want to go beyond basic skills. Your dog will work toward being an even better companion and/or prepare to play or compete in a dog sport. It will help prepare you and your dog for a future in dog sports, obedience - or simply teach a pet dog excellent self control and good behavior for interactions with family, friends and other dogs.
Your dog will learn to look to you for direction while at the same time developing the confidence to work away from you in a reliable manner. Off leash control, reliable recalls and learning to ignore distractions such as food will help you and your dog prepare for future training in agility, flyball. advanced obedience work and also being the best companion possible.

Agility: Introduction to obstacles
Prerequisite: Foundations for Agility (And More!) or instructor approval. Agility, good for those who would like to compete or for those who just want to have fun, is designed to work the dog and owner in handling skills that would be used to negotiate an agility course. You will also introduce them to agility obstacles in a safe and appropriate manner.
Dog and handler will learn start line stays and releases, post turn, front cross, rear cross, and a turn on the flat. You will progress from doing them on the flat to practicing them with single obstacles. You will also work on improving stays, sends, quick sits, quick downs and recalls.
One hour a week for six weeks. Human and dog come to every class.

Competition Agility
Prerequisite: Agility: Introduction to obstacles or instructor approval. Whether in it for fun or to prepare for competition, the goal of Competition Agility will be to work toward running a full course. This class is for dog and owners who have completed agility and can perform the handling moves and all obstacles (not necessarily at full height) with confidence. This class will concentrate on improving obstacle performance and handling skills.

Tricks and Games
Prerequisite: Family Dog or equivalent. Our clients asked us to add this class and we listened. It?s all tricks to the dog! Now here?s a clicker class focusing exclusively on tricks, fun and games. This is all the stuff that will delight your friends and family at picnics and parties.

CGC
Prerequisite of Family Dog or equivalent. In this clicker class you'll develop and sharpen the skills your dog needs to earn an AKC Canine Good Citizens Certificate. You'll learn how to teach your dog the stuff that will dazzle your friends. Your imagination is the limit in this class.

Rally Obedience One
Prerequisite of Family Dog or equivalent. Rally Obedience is the next big thing for dog people. It's approved by the Association of Pet Dog Trainers and the AKC for trials and titles. Rally-O isn't like traditional obedience; It's much more fun, much more dog-friendly and people-friendly too! Learn more about Rally Obedience on the APDT web site, or the AKC website. Good Manners and Play
NEW! This is a foundation class geared especially toward sight hounds and sight hound mixes. Positive training principles and skills will be used in this class, with special attention to the mind of a sight hound whether older or younger learners. We will address basic household and performance skills such as down, come, walking on leash, and greeting people. We will give particular attention to strengthening wait and recall skills in a more distracting environment. In addition, we will discuss and address any skills of need for the sight hounds in the class such as separation anxiety, shyness, and negotiating stairs. We will also work on skills that generate a positive attitude about learning and playing with us. We will work on trick training, confidence building, and play.
One hour a week for six weeks. Humans and dogs come to every class.

Policies and Discounts
Aggression Policy
No dogs showing true or ritualized aggression toward another dog or human being will be allowed to remain in class. Clients asked to leave class due to an aggression issue will be given the prorated balance of their class fee in the form of a credit for in-home behavior counseling.
Certain exceptions will be applied to dogs enrolled in The Calming Class. For information on The Calming Class call North Coast Dogs at 216-221-DOGS.
Human clients are also asked to refrain from aggressive behavior.
Dropped Class Policy
Clients who drop a class within 4 days prior to the class start date will receive a 50% refund. No refunds are given after the class begins. Missed classes can be made up on alternate days or at an alternate location. Missing more than two classes will be considered dropping out. There are no refunds for missed classes.
Vaccination Policy
North Coast Dogs requires all dogs be current on vaccinations according to age for DHLPP, Rabies and Bordatella. Vet records must be presented prior to bringing your dog to class. Failure to provide vaccination information will result in termination from class without a refund. We encourage you to ask your vet to FAX us vaccination records.
North Coast Dogs is aware of varying and developing opinions regarding canine vaccination. Certain exceptions will be made with written documentation from your veterinarian.
Discounts
North Coast Dogs offers a 15% discount to any dog adopted from a shelter or recognized rescue organization within 6 months prior to class start date or in-home consultation.
North Coast Dogs will give current clients a 5% discount on future classes or in-home training services for every new client they refer. The new client must pay for a class or in-home service for the discount to be credited. Current clients can accumulate a discount up to 15% per class or in-home training session. There is no limit to the total amount of 5% credits that can be accumulated. The referral award will be issued in the form of a 5% referral coupon mailed by U.S. Postal Service. Referral coupons are nontransferrable and expire one year after issuance.
New clients must give the referring client's complete name when we ask "how did you hear about North Coast Dogs" for the referral discount to be credited.
This offer is effective March 1st, 2003 and is not retroactive. Sorry.
